                                            THE RANT

I am sick of the deal. I am tired of everyone being in debt and struggling.  I am sick of watching ads on TV for credit counseling. I am tired of high interest rates and stupid penalties and phone calls if you are late or can't pay. And the only way to get past it is to borrow differently or work harder.  I can tell you this - you can't borrow your way out of debt, and working harder strains family life.

I am tired of everyone being  stuck  with  the deal.   And,  in spite  of what  you  hear  no   politician  of   any  party  is  ever  going to  change it.   The proof  is that politicians have been around for two hundred years and here we are, all in debt and struggling; and families are struggling to be families.  Either both parents are working or one is working so many hours they don't ever see their kids.  I have hated it for a long time.  It is wrong.

I, for one, am sick of people telling me that to get ahead I have to work harder.  I work hard enough already.  We can't all be President - only one at a time.  There are 305 million people in this country.  Lawyers make good money but there can't be 305 million lawyers.  There can't be 305 million doctors. People say own your own business, but there can't be 305 million business owners in this country.  There have to be people who just work for a living.   And, many of us DO already work hard.  I think it is wrong that we have to struggle, we have to 'bite the bullet'.  That is not what this country is supposed to be about.  It is wrong.  The deal is screwed up.

You know, there are a lot of people who don't necessarily want to get ahead.  I am pretty happy with my life except for the financially struggling part.  I think there are a lot of people who would be just as happy to keep doing the jobs they like to do and not be forced to look for a better paying job, or a second job,  because they don't have enough money. That is the part of the deal that is screwed up.

I  finally  accept  the  fact  that  no  group  is  ever  going  to  change  the  deal;  no government, no religion, no agency, no charity - no group.  The reason is because a group has many members and each one of them has an idea what to do with money. The talking and arguing and dealing always seems to find a way to keep the money from benefiting those of us who struggle; the ones who always seem willing to give to the less fortunate but no one wants to give to us.

Yes, no group is ever going to just plain give you money.  But, one honest man could do it.   One honest man could change the deal.     He could do it because he wants to.  He could do it because he doesn't have to listen to a group of people all with different ideas.  He could do it because for years he has seen friends and family and people in the news be stuck with the deal and deep in his heart he wants to do something about it.

So, now I have said to myself, "Why not me.  I am an honest man.  I have no aspirations of being a millionaire, I just want to pay OFF my bills not have to pay ON them each month. I think everyone should be able to do that."

But it has to be about giving.  It can only work through the concept of giving. There can be no contract or agreement of any kind .    Contracts  and  agreements generate legalities which get groups involved and groups just put you back to the old deal. Nobody wins.  Yes it has to be about giving - no strings attached. You give money to me because you want to -- I give money to you because I want to -- as simple as that.

The GFG at the top of this page stands for Good Faith Givers.   I want to give money to people who themselves are givers.  I know I am asking you to take a leap of faith. That is why it is called Good Faith Givers.  But it is only a small leap.  Less than you spent on lottery tickets last year.   Lottery tickets are based solely on luck.   The odds are astronomical.   This website is not about luck.  It is about going with your gut.  There are a lot of scams out there I know, but I am not promising you riches, I am only a man who is promising that I am sick of the deal and I want to change it for everyone.

My goal is to give as many people $500.00 a month as I can.     I have designed a computer program to keep track of the givers, so I can know who I want to give money to each month.

This is not about buying anything or selling anything. I won't send you any ads or sales material, that would be extra work which I  said I do enough of already.  I will not give, transmit or sell your information to anyone or any company - that is all part of the deal that I hate.  No, I want to change the deal not keep it going.

When you buy a lottery ticket you are taking the chance that 6 balls are going to fall in the right order so you can become rich.   Instead of that, see if there really is one man out there who cares about people and wants to do something for them.

Consider this:  there used to be a time when children were getting cancer and the cost of healing them was financially wiping out their families.  One man said, "I have to do something about this.  I want to start a research hospital where any child can go free of charge and get treatment. We can help them and they can help us find a cure. "

One man who felt deeply about it did it, not so he could become rich but because he sincerely wanted to do something to help. So, what I am telling you is not so hard to believe.  I feel the same way about people struggling.  I want to do something the government cannot.  Help people without politics being involved.

Think also about this.  If millions of people had extra money couldn't they give more to charities and causes like that research hospital?  When another Hurricane Katrina comes along what if a million people who were getting $500.00 a month said to me, 'hey send my check to the Hurricane Katrina fund this month.'  And they would do it because that is what givers do.  I can see so much potential good in what I am trying to do.

I hear about people losing their jobs. I hear about  companies going out of business and many people losing their jobs.  What are they going to do?  With what I want to do as long as there are good faith givers there would be money coming to help out.  I'm telling you there is a lot of good possible here.

I have told you I want to give people $500.00 a month.  I told you I have a computer program designed to keep track of givers.  I told you I know this would be a huge leap of faith to do.  Since this is new I will do this.  I will set the cap for the first one hundred givers to $750.00 per month.  (There are currently 48 givers on my list)

I was watching a TV show recently.  The contestant was down to two cases. One had $25.00 in it and one had the million.  Her gut told her she had the million. The banker offered her $341,000.00 for her case.  She listened to people, her loved ones and the audience,  who told her to take the deal. She took the deal.  Her gut was right. She had the million in her case.  She didn't take the leap.

So, now I put this to you.   Do you want to keep taking the deal?   The deal of continuing debt, and loss of family time.  The deal of having to work harder and harder for less and less.   There is power in giving;  power to change the deal.

Rather than change it, people are more likely to put up with the deal they are used to as long as they can. But they do have the right to change it if it gets to be too much.

Go with your gut on this.  If you ask someone else that would be a group and you will be stuck with the deal.  Be a giver.  See what one honest man can do to change the deal for everyone.  Take the leap.

Barack Obama said he wanted to make change in Washington.  We can't change Washington.  Democracy works the way it works.  It works the way it was designed to work.  Changing the people does not change democracy. And we wouldn't want to change democracy.  But WE THE PEOPLE CAN change the deal.

Help me change the deal.   Send a check made out to Chuck Graves  for $31.00,  with a note that says, "Please accept my gift,"   to GFG,       P O Box  422,  Barre, Vt.  05641.    There  is  no  group  or organization officially named Good Faith Givers.  That is just what you become if you give. Be sure to include your return address. I can't send you a Thank You note if I don't know where to send it.

Your check MUST include the note PLEASE ACCEPT MY GIFT.  If it does not include that note I will have to send your check back to you and it will delay the process.

So now decide.  Is what I have said the truth and what are you going to do about it?

Ok!  I just watched a news article that pointed out that the elderly living on the retirement that was plenty good enough when they planned it years ago are now finding they didn't plan on what is happening today.  They are struggling just to get by instead of being able to live comfortably which is what they planned.  They never planned on bread being $3.00 a loaf!  They never planned on milk being $4.00 a gallon or gas being $5.00 a gallon!   And their retirement is fixed.  It doesn't keep going up as the cost of everything else does.   It is not fair and it is   WRONG!

I can't keep watching  these things and do nothing but blame our elected government.  It is not their fault.  It's ours.

If you have gotten this far you have probably gotten farther than most. Notice I didn't  send  you  a  junk  email.   I hate those too.    So  before  you say your final BULL_ _ _ _  and go to another site remember this:

The next time you wish you had extra money; or the next time some creditor calls you; or the next time you get frustrated about working your butt off and still struggling and wish you had more free time, or the next time you see your elderly relatives struggling and think it is unfair; or the next time some credit card company puts the screws to you   -   come back here and read this again.  Maybe it won't seem so risky.
